Anderlecht faces pressure as Hoffenheim leads Nathan De Cat's exit

Seventeen‑year‑old midfielder Nathan De Cat is set to leave RSC Anderlecht this summer after refusing to extend a contract that expires next year, prompting the Brussels club to seek an immediate sale as Bundesliga side TSG Hoffenheim intensifies talks for his transfer. According to Sky Sport, TSG Hoffenheim has entered the negotiation phase and is increasingly in contact with the player’s representatives. The midfielder has already given his approval for a move to Germany, while Paris FC and several English clubs are also monitoring the situation. De Cat featured in 46 matches last season, a heavy workload for a 17‑year‑old. He recorded three goals and provided five assists, statistics that underline his impact at youth level. His performances have attracted attention from major European clubs, including Bayern Munich. Bayern’s coach Vincent Kompany has reportedly marked De Cat’s name and is following his progress. Anderlecht’s valuation is a sticking point; Hoffenheim is unwilling to meet the price Anderlecht has set. With no official bid submitted to RSCA, the Belgian side may be forced to lower its demands. Belgium national team coach Rudi Garcia omitted De Cat from the preliminary squad for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Supporters note that midfielder Axel Witsel has taken the position De Cat might have filled. The club’s patience is wearing thin as the summer window approaches. If no other suitor emerges, Anderlecht will likely have to accept a reduced fee for the promising talent.
