Liverpool's all‑in gamble on Barcola amid post‑Slot overhaul

🇬🇧

Liverpool have announced an aggressive pursuit of French winger Bradley Barcola, who scored 13 goals for Paris Saint‑Germain in the 2025‑26 season, as the club rebuilds after dismissing Arne Slot. The Reds aim to replace Mohamed Salah and Yan Diomande with the 22‑year‑old talent.

After a disappointing 2025‑26 Premier League campaign, Liverpool relieved Arne Slot of his duties. The club now faces a rebuild, with several first‑team members linked with moves away.

Mohamed Salah's contract was terminated early, and Yan Diomande was expected to be the replacement. However, Diomande chose to join Paris Saint‑Germain, leaving Liverpool to look elsewhere.

Richard Hughes confirmed that Liverpool are focusing on Bradley Barcola, a French winger who netted 13 goals across all competitions in 2025‑26. "The Liverpool links are concrete. He’s now very much top of their list of targets due to Yan Diomande being out of reach," one source said. The RB Leipzig winger’s likely arrival at PSG has also clearly opened this door.

Barcola's desire to leave Paris Saint‑Germain grew after Luis Enrique did not start him in the Champions League final. The winger's 13‑goal haul makes him a guaranteed starter for Liverpool, according to reports.

Despite the appeal, Liverpool must set a spending limit, as Paris Saint‑Germain are reluctant to lose Barcola while retaining players such as Maghnes Akliouche, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Desire Doue, Ousmane Dembele and Ibrahima Mbaye. "Liverpool love Barcola and they’re ready to invest in a top winger," another source added, "but I can’t say for sure if they’ll let him go for a price Liverpool or anyone else would find reasonable."
