Van den Boomen leaves Ajax for Angers — and the Amsterdam club take nothing in return
Blind’s return marks his third stint in Amsterdam. There is even talk of a longer stay. ‘The intention is clearly expressed that the club’s son will be groomed for a role within the club after his playing career,’ a club insider noted. Blind progressed through Ajax’s youth academy and established himself as a first-team regular between 2010 and 2014. He later moved to Manchester United. Between 2018 and 2022 he returned to Ajax, making 124 appearances. After his spell in England, he went on to play in Germany and Spain for Bayern München and Girona respectively.
