Brøndby eyes veteran striker Janssen to boost title push
Vincent Janssen, the 32‑year‑old former Netherlands forward, has left Royal Antwerp FC and is already linked with Danish Superliga side Brøndby, who finished fourth last season and are seeking an experienced striker to reinforce their title race for the upcoming season.
Tipsbladet Brøndby have set their sights on the 32‑year‑old attacker. The Danish club ended the previous campaign in fourth place in the Superliga. Brøndby aim to strengthen the squad to again play a meaningful role in the title fight.
Janssen earned 22 caps for the Netherlands senior team. He scored seven goals for the Oranje during his international career.
He departed Royal Antwerp FC this summer after the club chose not to extend his contract. Financial difficulties at Antwerp made a longer stay impossible, leaving the striker free‑transfer ready.
Earlier speculation linked the forward with a move to the United States or the Middle East. The emerging interest from Brøndby places the player in a surprising Northern European destination.
No agreement has been reached yet, but the interest is described as concrete. The future of the former Oranje international could therefore take a different direction than previously expected.
