Fortuna Sittard eyes Indonesian striker Ole Romeny amid loan talks
Indonesian striker Ole Romeny, who departed FC Utrecht for Oxford United in the winter of 2025, is now being linked with a move to Fortuna Sittard. Romeny has logged 32 appearances for Oxford, scoring once, and has earned ten caps for the Indonesian national team.
The DoneDeal podcast of VoetbalPrimeur reported that the player could be loaned out for a relatively modest fee. Dennie van Laar, speaking on the programme, said the loan option is being examined.
Fortuna Sittard has expressed strong interest in securing the striker. The club is currently reviewing the loan as one of the possible routes to bring him back to the Eredivisie.
In Indonesia, Romeny is regarded as a major sensation and a “superstar” by local observers. Foreign clubs have also begun to inquire about his availability, adding to his market profile.
Romeny is actively weighing his options after his season in England. A return to the Dutch top flight remains on the table, driven by Fortuna’s interest.
Should a loan materialise, Fortuna Sittard could provide the striker with regular playing time ahead of the next campaign. The next few weeks will determine whether the Indonesian international joins the Dutch side or pursues another opportunity.
