Strasbourg target Örgryte’s Michael Parker amid managerial reshuffle

🇫🇷

RC Strasbourg Alsace are tracking 21‑year‑old English defender Michael Parker, the Örgryte IS centre‑back who has started 11 of the club’s 13 games this season, journalist Sacha Tavolieri reports. The French side could move for the player as they prepare for a new manager after Gary O’Neil’s departure for Ipswich Town.

RSC Anderlecht and Udinese have also entered the race for Parker’s services, according to the same source. Both clubs are monitoring the defender’s progress in Sweden.

Parker previously featured for Huddersfield, Burnley and West Bromwich Albion before leaving the United Kingdom last February to launch his professional career. He chose Sweden as his new base, quickly becoming a key player for Örgryte IS.

The Englishman is contracted to Örgryte IS until December 2028, with an option for an additional year. Club management values him at €2 million, while interested parties aim to reduce the price to €1.5 million.

RC Strasbourg Alsace are expected to appoint a new manager shortly after Gary O’Neil’s exit for Ipswich Town. The coaching change adds urgency to their transfer plans.

With the valuation gap and managerial vacancy, Strasbourg could soon finalize a deal for Parker. A successful acquisition would bolster their defensive options ahead of the upcoming season.
