Anthony Gordon Chooses Barcelona Over Bayern

Anthony Gordon, 25, has agreed to join FC Barcelona from Newcastle United this summer. The transfer was confirmed after former midfielder Deco approached Gordon's agents.

Gordon had expected to leave Newcastle following the season, but did not foresee Barcelona's interest because he assumed England teammate Marcus Rashford would be signed after a strong statistical campaign. Rashford's anticipated move had led Gordon to believe his own departure would be secondary.

The decision eliminates competition for the left‑wing position at Newcastle, where Raphinha is regarded as untouchable. With Gordon's exit, Newcastle's remaining left‑wing options are limited.
