Liverpool intensify Eli Junior Kroupi pursuit after Iraola appointment
Liverpool have stepped up their pursuit of Eli Junior Kroupi following the appointment of Andoni Iraola as head coach. The English club see the 19‑year‑old French forward as a potential solution to a reshaping attack.
Mohamed Salah reached an agreement to terminate his £400k‑per‑week contract one year early, ending his spell with Liverpool. Richard Hughes and Andoni Iraola are reported to be seeking forwards, with Federico Chiesa likely to depart and the futures of Rio Ngumoha and Cody Gakpo remaining uncertain. Injuries to Hugo Ekitike and Alexander Isak have further limited Liverpool’s attacking options.
Eli Junior Kroupi, born in Lorient in June 2006, broke out during Bournemouth’s 2025‑26 Premier League campaign, reaching double‑figure goals. He is contracted to Bournemouth until 2029 with no reported release clause. Valuations are reported in the €60‑70 million range.
Arsenal and Liverpool have both been tracking the forward, with the latter maintaining a particularly close watch after Iraola’s move to Anfield, the report reads. Manchester City is also among the clubs monitoring Kroupi. Bournemouth intend to keep Kroupi as a core part of their project for at least another season.
Iraola’s recruitment strategy appears to prioritize versatile attackers like Kroupi. While Kroupi has expressed happiness at Bournemouth, his profile has attracted interest from clubs competing for Champions League places.
