Safouane Benzahra signs for AS Monaco from NAC Breda

Seventeen‑year‑old winger Safouane Benzahra has completed a move from NAC Breda to Ligue 1 side AS Monaco in 2025. The player signed a contract that runs until mid‑2028, a deal highlighted by his agent Nathan van Kooperen of Muy Manero.

Benzahra was without a contract at NAC Breda when the transfer was arranged. The agreement was announced in a statement by the brokerage firm Muy Manero.

Van Kooperen told business magazine Quote that the boy had no contract at NAC Breda, so he introduced him to AS Monaco. "That's a very nice club where they take good care of their youth players, including a boarding school," he said.

He added that Benzahra's family fully backed the move because they trusted Monaco's handling of young talent. The agent emphasized that the family knew the club would look after their son.

Van Kooperen recalled that after the summer deal was sealed, the three biggest Dutch clubs called him, claiming they had been unaware of the transfer. "They were sleeping and when they heard Benzahra was going to Monaco, they suddenly wanted him. They were too late," he laughed.

Last season the winger featured for several Moroccan youth squads. His performances at the under‑17 level attracted attention from clubs across Europe.
