Liverpool contact club over massive transfer target
Liverpool have contacted Belgian club KRC Genk regarding the potential signing of forward Santiago GIMENEZ.
Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards initiated contact with KRC Genk sporting director Pär Zetterberg to discuss a deal.
Genk sporting director Zetterberg confirmed the inquiry to The Athletic, stating the club expects a concrete offer soon.
Giménez, 23, scored 23 goals in 42 appearances for Genk this season, including 15 in the Belgian Pro League.
Liverpool are prioritising wide areas in their transfer plans after Mohamed Salah’s future remains uncertain.
The Reds have identified Giménez as a potential replacement if they lose Salah, with a bid expected within weeks.
