Michael Beale appointed head coach of Zulte Waregem

🇧🇪 21 May 2026

Zulte Waregem have appointed Michael Beale as head coach. The 45‑year‑old Englishman was presented at the club’s Gaverbeek stadium. He signed a contract for the next two seasons.

Beale said he loves clubs that stand for hard work and offensive football. The statement reflects his preferred playing style. He brings experience from previous roles in England.

The two‑year deal was formalised on the day of his introduction. The contract runs until the end of the 2025‑26 season. Zulte Waregem confirmed the terms publicly.

Steve Colpaert will serve as assistant coach. He previously stepped in as interim after the dismissal of Sven Vandenbroeck. Colpaert’s return to the bench follows his successful interim spell.

The club had dismissed Sven Vandenbroeck earlier in the season. Colpaert guided the team through the interim period. His appointment as assistant signals continuity.

Zulte Waregem aim to build on the new coaching team’s philosophy. Beale’s focus on hard work and attacking play will shape training. The club expects the staff to improve results.

The season now looks to a fresh start under Beale’s leadership. Fans will watch how the new coaching duo implements their ideas. The club’s next matches will test the new approach.
