FC Porto's attempt to sign OH Leuven right‑back Davis Opoku on a €5 million loan with a purchase option was rejected by the Belgian club, which announced the decision on X. Dutch side Feyenoord is also monitoring the 18‑year‑old's progress this season.

Davis Opoku, 18, earned promotion to OH Leuven's first team last summer. He received his first senior minutes from coach David Hubert and later from Felice Mazzù, who quickly gave him a regular role.

During the regular season he participated in 17 duels, often advancing forward to support attacks. Injuries to teammates occasionally allowed him to play longer spells.

When the Europe Play‑offs began, Opoku did not feature until Mazzù inserted him into the starting eleven for the final four matches of the campaign.

He concluded the 2025‑26 season with 21 appearances and contributed two decisive passes.

Opoku is a product of OH Leuven's academy and has represented Belgium at under‑19 level, earning nine caps.

Sacha Tavolieri posted on X, “FC Porto put their eyes on Davis Opoku! OH Leuven has turned down a offer of loan with an €5M option to buy from FC Porto. Talks are still alive. Feyenoord monitoring the situation.” The tweet confirms both clubs' interest.

Feyenoord, having recently signed Belgian defender Charles Vanhoutte, continues to track Opoku's development closely.
