Liverpool eye Yan Diomande as Salah departs
Liverpool are preparing a radical overhaul of their forward line as Mohamed Salah prepares to leave on a free transfer and the club eyes 19‑year‑old Yan Diomande. The changes arrive with new head coach Andoni Iraola set to take charge.
Salah and Liverpool sporting director Richard Hughes have agreed to end his £400k‑per‑week contract a year early, allowing the Egyptian forward to exit without a fee.
Federico Chiesa has said he would love a return to Juventus, while Cody Gakpo is linked with Tottenham Hotspur and Atletico Madrid. Rio Ngumoha faces scrutiny after reports he gave a green light to a Bayern Munich contract.
Liverpool remain keen on signing Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig, but Paris Saint-Germain are reported as favourites. Leipzig have Diomande contracted until 2030 after an £18m move from Leganes.
A source says Liverpool have made no approach to Diomande, who will focus on the FIFA World Cup with Ivory Coast. Emerse Fae’s side will play its final group stage game on June 25 after a match against Ecuador on June 15, meaning any transfer decision will wait until the tournament ends.
