Roma push for Mason Greenwood from Marseille by June 30
AS Roma are in advanced negotiations with Olympique Marseille to secure the transfer of 2001‑born striker Mason Greenwood, a target of manager Gian Piero Gasperini, and the club must complete the deal before 30 June as Marseille is obliged to sell under a settlement agreement, while Tottenham’s interest has also risen.
Mason Greenwood has rediscovered his best form under Olympique Marseille coach Roberto De Zerbi. Fabrizio Romano reported that Gian Piero Gasperini is not interested in bringing Greenwood to England.
A competitor has withdrawn its interest, leaving Roma to step up its game. Roma secured a waiver that makes Tony D’Amico immediately available for registration.
Roma’s primary objective this window is to complete contract renewals. The club also aims to settle UEFA’s accounts with its incoming transfers.
The 2001‑born Greenwood is reportedly pushing to join Gian Piero Gasperini’s side. His desire aligns with Roma’s ambition to add him for the next season.
Friedmann’s plan involves publicly breaking with Greenwood’s current club to negotiate a lower fee. Olympique Marseille continues to demand at least €50 million for the player.
Recent hours have seen Tottenham Hotspur emerge as a popular alternative destination for Greenwood. However, Gasperini’s focus remains on securing the player for Roma.
