Al Ahli's €50m chase: Trincão poised to replace Mahrez
Al Ahli of Saudi Arabia are on the brink of a €50 million deal for 27‑year‑old Portuguese international Trincão, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano reports. The Saudi club is in advanced talks with Sporting Portugal, whose contract with the attacker runs until mid‑2030 but remains open to a move. Trincão, a regular starter last season, could become the successor to Riyadh Mahrez.
Al Ahli would need to lay down more than fifty million euros to secure Trincão’s services. Sporting Portugal have Trincão under contract until the middle of 2030, yet the player is reportedly willing to consider a transfer.
In the previous campaign Trincão featured in 54 matches for Sporting. He found the net thirteen times and supplied eighteen assists, establishing himself as a key contributor.
The prospective signing would replace Riyadh Mahrez, who remained on Al Ahli’s books until the end of last season. Al Ahli concluded that campaign in third place in the domestic competition.
Trincão is currently part of Portugal’s World Cup squad, having appeared in three of four group‑stage games. He logged thirty minutes against Uzbekistan, and on Monday the Portuguese side will meet Spain in the round of 16. His limited minutes have left him eager to prove his worth on the international stage.
