Juventus target Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario
Juventus have identified Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario as their leading target for the goalkeeper position. The interest accelerated after Juventus encountered obstacles with other high‑profile options.
Juventus initially pursued Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker, but Liverpool refused to sanction another major dressing‑room departure. This refusal removed Alisson from Juventus’ shortlist.
Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez and AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan remained under consideration, yet their salary demands and overall package costs proved difficult for Juventus to meet.
Vicario, 30, has been a regular starter for Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League since joining from Empoli, where he played in Serie A. His reported desire to return to Italian football and a salary structure that fits Juventus’ financial model have boosted his standing.
Vicario is under contract with Tottenham Hotspur until 2028, giving the club a strong negotiating position. Juventus reportedly view a €20 million fee as reasonable, while Tottenham supporters believe his market value is higher.
With Inter Milan no longer pursuing Vicario, Juventus may act decisively in the coming weeks. Tottenham must decide whether to entertain a suitable offer or retain their first‑choice goalkeeper.
