From Rome to Turin: Massara’s executive move reshapes Juventus leadership
Juventus have confirmed Frederic Massara’s appointment as Chief Football Officer, while Giorgio Chiellini takes on a new role as Chief Club Affairs Officer. The Bianconeri announced the changes in a statement, with Massara set to report directly to CEO Giovanni Carnevali. In his new position, Massara will oversee the men’s football division and help implement sporting strategies alongside Sporting Director Marco Ottolini.
Massara arrives from AS Roma, where he served as Sporting Director. Juventus highlighted his reputation as one of football’s most respected executives, noting his contributions at AC Milan and AS Roma. The club described his appointment as an opportunity to strengthen their organisational structure under Carnevali’s leadership.
Giorgio Chiellini’s transition to Chief Club Affairs Officer reflects Juventus’ focus on institutional engagement. The former player will now represent the club’s interests with key stakeholders, both in Italy and internationally. Juventus framed the move as part of a broader effort to build stronger relationships with sporting organisations and decision-makers.
Juventus CEO Giovanni Carnevali praised the new structure, calling it “solid, competent and cohesive.” He emphasised Massara’s expertise as an added value to the Bianconeri’s existing leadership. Carnevali also welcomed Massara into “the great Bianconeri family,” underscoring the club’s ambition for the new executive team.
The restructuring comes as Juventus aim to consolidate their leadership in Italian football. With Massara’s arrival and Chiellini’s shift, the club signals a renewed focus on both sporting development and institutional representation.
