Germany's DFB moves toward dream hire Jürgen Klopp as new coach

🇩🇪
The German Football Association (DFB) is currently negotiating a personal agreement with Jürgen Klopp to take over as head coach of the national team, following Julian Nagelsmann’s resignation after Germany’s penalty‑shootout defeat to Paraguay earlier today in a disappointing tournament exit. The DFB announced Nagelsmann’s departure earlier today. Nagelsmann decided to leave after Germany’s penalty‑shootout loss to Paraguay, making the tournament disappointing. The federation had already signaled intent to discuss the vacancy with Klopp. now reports the association is drafting a personal agreement with him. Klopp, former Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund manager, is described as the dream candidate to replace Nagelsmann. Klopp currently serves as Head of Global Soccer at Red Bull. The DFB says this role does not pose an obstacle to his appointment. Negotiations are in an early stage and details remain to be finalised. Klopp is reportedly eager to begin work with Die Mannschaft. If the personal agreement is concluded, Germany will have a new head coach in place ahead of upcoming competitions. The DFB expects to wrap up talks soon.
