Inter’s €20m bid for Khalaili: Napoli’s failed pursuit clears the way

🇮🇹
Serie A side Inter have made a formal €20 million offer for Union Saint Gilloise attacker Anan Khalaili and are now the frontrunner to sign the 21-year-old Israeli. Napoli had previously pursued Khalaili but their efforts did not materialise, with Inter’s interest intensifying in recent weeks. Gianluca Di Marzio Khalaili is keen on a move to Inter and has informed his club of his preference. The Belgian club currently values the player at €30 million, leaving Inter to increase their bid if they wish to complete the deal. Como have attempted to enter the race in the last 24 hours, but Khalaili’s insistence on joining Inter has reportedly narrowed the competition. The Israeli’s desire to play in Milan appears to be the decisive factor in Como’s exclusion. La dello Sport suggests optimism that a deal could be finalised, with Curtis Jones identified as Inter’s next target if Khalaili’s transfer collapses. The report highlights Jones as a potential alternative in the same position. The right wing-back role at Inter requires reinforcement following the departure of Denzel Dumfries and uncertainty surrounding Luis Henrique’s future. Khalaili, aged 21, could address both immediate and long-term concerns in that position. Kaustubh Pandey of GIFN notes that Khalaili’s profile is particularly useful for Inter’s current needs, aligning with the club’s strategic priorities. Inter’s pursuit of Khalaili reflects their proactive approach in the transfer market, with the club willing to meet the Belgian side’s valuation to secure the player’s signature. Negotiations remain ongoing, with Inter’s €20 million bid setting the stage for further discussions between the clubs.
