Lille add Swiss U19 right-back Srdanovic on four-year deal
Lille OSC have signed 19-year-old right-back Loun Srdanovic from Swiss club Servette FC on a four-year contract, the club confirmed on Monday.
The Belgium international Thomas Meunier is out of contract and his departure from Ligue 1 side Lille appears imminent. Hull City and Valencia have shown notable interest in the player, who impressed last season.
Recruiting in Meunier’s position became a priority for Lille. While Tiago Santos may be expected to step in, the club sought additional depth and turned to the Swiss U19 international.
The transfer progressed rapidly. Reports on Monday morning indicated Srdanovic was close to joining Lille’s Stade Pierre Mauroy. By early afternoon, the move was officially completed.
Srdanovic has agreed terms on a four-year deal with Lille, the club confirmed. Last season, he made 17 appearances in all competitions for Servette.
The Belgian defender’s arrival provides cover at right-back as Lille prepare for Meunier’s exit. The club’s recruitment focus in that position has now shifted to securing a long-term replacement.
Servette FC will receive a transfer fee as part of the agreement. The Swiss club confirmed the departure of their U19 international player.
Lille’s move reflects their strategy of blending experienced performers with promising young talent. Srdanovic represents a long-term project in defence.
The right-back’s development will be closely monitored as he adapts to life in Ligue 1.
