Manchester United ready to meet Madrid’s price for Tchouaméni
At the Etihad Campus training complex, Manchester United’s technical staff gathered this week to finalise plans for a summer rebuild. Among the targets is Aurélien Tchouaméni, the Real Madrid midfielder whose name has now surfaced in Old Trafford’s transfer dossier, who has been a regular in the Spanish league this season.
Tchouaméni, however, is not immediately receptive to the idea of leaving Madrid. He made 33 appearances in the Spanish top flight last campaign and has already featured in seven league games this season. Earlier this year he was involved in a public disagreement with teammate Federico Valverde.
United’s search for midfield reinforcement follows the exit of Casemiro, whose departure has left a void in the engine room. The Red Devils have already seen potential recruits Mateus Fernandes and Elliot Anderson sign for Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City respectively, while Chelsea’s Andrey Santos is also linked with a move to Old Trafford.
Tchouaméni joined Real Madrid from AS Monaco in the summer of 2022 for a fee reported to exceed eighty million euros. Since then he has made nearly two hundred appearances for the Spanish club, scoring seven goals. He is currently in action at the World Cup with France, where Les Bleus have reached the quarter-finals.
