Mourinho's debut on July 13 frames Real Madrid's pre‑season schedule

🇪🇸
Real Madrid’s biggest stars are currently competing at the FIFA World Cup, while those who missed national team call‑ups, the injured players and those whose nations did not qualify are on vacation ahead of the new season. Their downtime is limited, as the club’s pre‑season will begin in just over a week. Rodrygo is recovering from an ACL injury, and Ferland Mendy and Eder Militao are also sidelined with setbacks. All three will be available from the first day of José Mourinho’s supervision, although they will not take part in group training. Federico Valverde and Arda Guler, whose countries were eliminated in the World Cup group stage, are expected to join the pre‑season very soon, likely as early as the second week. Antonio Rudiger and Denzel Dumfries are projected to arrive next, having been knocked out in the Round of 32. Dumfries’ signing has not been confirmed yet, but he is set to join the camp early after his World Cup exit. On 13 July the squad will undergo routine medical examinations and have their first contact with José Mourinho. The day will be followed by a rigorous schedule of training sessions and practice drills. Most of the preparation will take place at Real Madrid’s Valdebebas facilities. The club has no plans for a pre‑season tour in the United States or Asia. The first friendly will be part of the Teresa Herrera Trophy against Deportivo La Coruña. A second clash with Fiorentina in Austria is slated for 1 August, by which time most of the team should be back.
