VIDEO Zelfs: Rode Duivels repeat Trump-dansje, even Onana joins
VIDEO footage shows even the injured Onana joined the fun as the Belgian national side, the Rode Duivels, repeated their Trump-dansje in the locker room after Romelu Lukaku’s goal, which had already been celebrated on the pitch with a YMCA-dansje of the Amerikaanse president.
On the field, the players performed the YMCA-dansje to mark Lukaku’s strike, echoing the dance popularised by the US president. The choreography involved the familiar arm‑raising moves that have become synonymous with the president’s public appearances.
In the dressing room, the squad replicated the routine, with the sidelined goalkeeper Onana taking part despite his injury. The sight of the entire group mimicking the dance underscored the light‑hearted mood among the players.
The reenactment was also interpreted as an extra jab at the American president after his perceived interference in the decision to show a red card to Folarin Balogun. Balogun’s dismissal had sparked debate, and the team’s gesture linked the incident to the president’s involvement.
