Feyenoord's €5 million chase for Belgian right‑back Davis Opoku
A €5 million offer could see Belgian right‑back Davis Opoku depart OH Leuven for Feyenoord, as agent Dévy Rigaux intensifies his push following the earlier acquisition of Nacho Ferri from KVC Westerlo. The 21‑year‑old striker's move to Feyenoord was sealed with a contract running to mid‑2030, highlighting the Dutch club's willingness to invest heavily in talent.
Feyenoord announced the signing of Ignacio ‘Nacho’ Ferri, a 21‑year‑old Spanish striker, from KVC Westerlo. The club said in a press release, “Feyenoord heeft zich versterkt met Ignacio ‘Nacho’ Ferri. De 21-jarige Spaanse spits komt over van KVC Westerlo en heeft in De Kuip zijn handtekening gezet onder een contract tot medio 2030.”
The next target is Davis Opoku, a Belgian right‑back currently under contract with OH Leuven until June 2028. Transfermarkt lists his market value at approximately €800 000.
FC Porto submitted a €5 million bid for Opoku a few weeks ago, but Leuven’s board declined to accept the offer at King Power @ Den Dreef, indicating they intend to retain the player for at least another season.
During the 2025/2026 campaign Opoku featured in 28 league matches across Belgian competitions and contributed five assists, performances that have attracted interest from multiple clubs.
Dévy Rigaux, who previously advocated for Ferri’s move, is now urging Feyenoord to match or exceed Porto’s €5 million proposal to persuade Leuven to release Opoku.
If Feyenoord meets the €5 million threshold, it would underscore the growing competition among European clubs for emerging Belgian talent, a trend reflected in recent transfer activity.
