Roma eye Timber as key midfield boost ahead of Champions League return

🇮🇹
Roma have identified Dutch midfielder Quinten Timber as a potential reinforcement, according to transfer reports. The 2001-born player, currently with Marseille, finished the season with 40 appearances, four goals and four assists across his spells at Marseille and Feyenoord. The Giallorossi are seeking strong additions to improve the squad ahead of their return to the Champions League. Coach Gian Piero Gasperini has repeatedly expressed his passion for the competition and aims to bring Roma back to the top of Europe. The futures of Premier League‑linked Manu Konè and Neil El Aynaoui remain uncertain. Roma would only consider parting with either player if they received extraordinary offers that could shake the Friedkins, according to the report. Leggo , should Konè or El Aynaoui depart, Roma are monitoring Timber as a replacement. The club is also keeping an eye on free agent Kessiè as an alternative option. Gasperini has also requested the signing of Mason Greenwood, indicating that the Giallorossi’s immediate priorities lie elsewhere, particularly with OM. The Italian side has been working on bringing Greenwood to the capital for at least a month. Timber’s World Cup experience includes a clash with El Aynaoui, where the Moroccan forward’s team eliminated the Netherlands. His versatility and recent statistics make him an attractive prospect for a Roma side looking to bolster midfield depth.
