Ajax’s Steur windfall: 24m euro deal clears path for new targets
Ajax will move immediately on the transfer market after banking €24 million from the sale of 18-year-old midfielder Sean Steur to Newcastle United.
The deal was finalised in the early hours of Tuesday, with the Amsterdam club set to receive €24 million plus up to €3 million in potential add-ons, sell-on percentage as part of the agreement.
Sean Steur is scheduled to fly to England on Tuesday and, pending a medical, will sign a contract running until mid-2031 at St James’ Park. Newcastle completed the move following the sale of Sandro Tonali to Tottenham Hotspur.
